chanson: Radiohead – Creep

When you were here before
Couldn’t look you in the eye
You’re just like an angel
Your skin makes me cry

You float like a feather
In a beautiful world
I wish I was special
You’re so very special

But I’m a creep (sale type)
I’m a weirdo (taré, désaxé, écervelé; de ‘weird’ = ‘bizarre’)
What the hell am I doin’ here? (qu’est-ce que je fiche ici)
I don’t belong here

I don’t care if it hurts
I wanna have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul

I want you to notice
When I’m not around
You’re so very special
I wish I was special

But I’m a creep
I’m a weirdo
What the hell am I doin’ here?
I don’t belong here, ohhhh, ohhhh

She’s running out the door
She’s running out
She runs, runs, runs, runs
Runs

Whatever makes you happy
Whatever you want
You’re so very special
I wish I was special

But I’m a creep
I’m a weirdo
What the hell am I doin’ here?
I don’t belong here

I don’t belong here

  1. I don’t understand ‘I wish I was special’ and ‘I don’t belong here’

-‘I wish I was special’: Does it mean I hope I was special? J’espère avoir été spécial ou si seulement j’étais spécial?
    – ‘I don’t belong here’ Does it mean? ‘My place is not here’ or ‘I don’t belong to this word’?

    Thank you for answering me,
    Marie.

‘I wish I was special’ means ‘si seulement j’étais’ ou ‘j’aurais tellement aimé être différent/mieux que les autres’

‘I don’t belong here’ means ‘je n’ai pas ma place’ or ‘je me sens étranger’

    Jonathan
