chanson: Duran Duran – Ordinary World

I was never a fan of Duran Duran during the eighties when they were at their most popular. But this song really moves me because it reminds me that pop groups have their moment and then fade away, just like the youths that adore them. This song for me is about the end of my youth, the new decade with new styles of music (grunge, gangsta rap etc), and the start of the ‘ordinary world’ – doing ordinary adult things.

This song really deserves much more credit (and airplay) than it gets, but like I say, it was cool to like Duran Duran once, but those days are long gone.
