Woulda, coulda, shoulda

Woulda, coulda and shoulda are the contracted forms of would have, could have, should have. Please don’t write them like this!

This is how they work in English:

1. If you’d told me, I woulda done it. Si tu me l’avais dit, je l’aurais fait.
2. you woulda got into big trouble if he’d found out. tu aurais eu des gros ennuis s’il l’avait découvert
3. I really don’t know what I woulda said in that situation. Je ne sais pas vraiment ce que j’aurais dit dans cette situation
4. I coulda told you where it was if you’d asked. J’aurais pu te le dire si tu m’avais demandé
5. You were going my way so you coulda given me a lift. Tu allais dans ma direction donc tu aurais pu me déposer
6. They coulda won the match if they’d stayed focussed. Ils auraient pu gagner s’ils étaient restés concentrés
7. I’m sorry, I shoulda let you know. Désolé, j’aurais dû te le dire
8. We shoulda reduced our prices. Nous aurions dû baisser nos prix
9. You shoulda worked harder, you woulda got a pay rise. Tu aurais dû travailler plus dur, tu aurais eu une augmentation
