Selling in Retail: Greeting the customer

This short video highlights the importance of greeting the customer correctly. The trainer here doesn’t believe that using ‘can I help you?’ is a good way to open a conversation. I would say that there are times when saying ‘can I help you?’ is appropriate. If you are working in a store that has a lot of people who come just to look around, it can be a way of filtering out visitors who are not interested in buying.
