Oooo, the haters have found my site. I certainly agree that ‘one is’ (contracted form ‘one’s) is much less common in English than in French, but it does exist. It is in fact a very formal way of speaking, and sometimes in England people like to mock the Queen by using ‘one’ instead of ‘you’. This is how it works:
French: Futuroscope est super, on peut y faire plein de choses
English (normal):Futuroscope is great, you can do lots of things there (you = you, or people in general)
English (posh, like the Queen): Futuroscope is great, one can do lots of things there (one = people in general)
The next time you write malicious comments, please do so in English, prove that you know the English language better than me. One’s so easily offended you know…
