Dear Ed,
Thanks for this information. I must say that I didn’t find your videos that inspiring. I’m not a grammarian, but I find ‘breakfast already’ a little strange as a complement. Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought the frequency adverb ‘already’ qualifies the verb, not a noun like ‘breakfast’.
My visitors like to review grammar, and find it helpful to get through tests, but they also know that I don’t like dry grammar explanations. If you haven’t read Michael Lewis’s (no relation) ‘The Lexical Approach’, you really should get a copy. Next time you’re on Youtube, check out Mike Marzio’s ‘Real English’ videos. Now that’s something I like, and wish I had done!

J’ai beaucoup de difficultés avec la grammaire anglaise. Je viens de prendre connaissance des conjugaisons du présent et du passé .
Je ne comprends pas la différence entre le present perfect:
vous travaillez ici depuis… you have worked here since…. et le present perfect progressive:
vous travaillez ici depuis…you’ve been working here since…
de même pour le past perfect:
vous aviez travaillé : you had worked et le past progressive:
vous aviez travaillé:you had been working.

it’s really hard, and sometimes the explanations just complicate things. If you understand the difference between the present simple and the present progressive, you are on the way to understanding the past progressive.
