The vowel sound “O”
Sorry about the poor quality of the video – and the bad hair!
I discovered this silly rhyme in my daughter’s book of nursery rhymes – it’s said to be traditional, but was made famous in the film “singing in the rain” with Gene Kelly.
For those of you that have a good level in English, or are teaching English, this
is a very good pronunciation exercise for the dipthong:
It’s also a good way to demonstrate stress patterns in English, in this rhyme it is the “o” sound that is stressed, which is normal, for dipthongs are hard to contract, or swallow as my students prefer to say.
Here is the rhyme in full:
Moses supposes his toeses are roses
But Moses supposes erroneously
for nobody’s toeses are posies of roses
As Moses supposes his toeses to be.

J’ai passé quatre ans à la Faculté de Linguistique Appliquée en beaucoup de cours comme par la sémiotique, la sémantique etc. Mais je n’ai pas réussi à maitriser l’anglais et l’espagnol à l’oral. Donc, c’est vraiment cette raison qui m’incite à trouver un moyen, une personne ou une méthode plus sure et rapide pouvant m’aider à m’améliorer dans le parlé de l’anglais.

thanks, your exercise is very interesting for correct the errors of prononciation, (also, for learn in songs it’s good, for me it’s the Rock and the others music which I like), I’m novice in English and as in the French language, the words are chopped to knife, I joke, it’s not too easy, then that help a lot, to see you and to hear you. I hope other exercises.
