will and shall

Il y a t-il une différence entre will et shall? Si c’est pour parler d’un futur simple (spontané ou imprévu, non ils sont pareils:

I shall go shopping this afternoon = I will go shopping this afternoon

Attention, en anglais shall a une autre signification. Si on commence une question avec shall I…? ou shall we…?, c’est pour proposer quelque chose. Comment ça se traduit en français?

Shall I help you? Tu veux que je t’aide?/je peux t’aider?

Shall I open the window?(it’s hot in here) tu veux que j’ouvre la fenêtre? J’ouvre la fenêtre?

Dans certaines regions de la Grande Bretagne, shall pour parler du futur est aussi courant que will. Je vous conseil néanmoins d’employer will car vous serez compris n’importe où au monde anglophone.
